Barrett S. Annis
Director of Construction/Owner
As co-founder and Director of Construction at Barken Development and Construction, Barrett has contributed over 25 years of field contracting and construction management experience. He oversees all construction operations at Barken, including subcontractor coordination, quality control, scheduling, and on-site project management across the company’s multi-family residential, corporate office, senior living, healthcare, and tenant improvement portfolio. Barrett’s hands-on approach and direct site involvement are a core part of how Barken delivers predictable outcomes for commercial clients in Fresno and Clovis.
J. Kenneth Motschiedler
Director of Development/Owner
As co-founder and Director of Development at Barken Development and Construction, Ken brings over 25 years of real estate development expertise to every project. His work spans the full development lifecycle: construction finance, contract negotiation, property entitlement, CEQA coordination, and infrastructure phasing. Kenneth has managed development activity across Fresno County, including work in Heritage Grove, Loma Vista, and the Southeast Development Area (SEDA). He holds direct relationships with Fresno and Clovis planning departments and oversees all development services at Barken from initial feasibility through final entitlement.

Motschiedler brings over two decades of real estate development expertise, including construction finance, contract negotiation, and the full property entitlement process. Annis contributes more than twenty years of field contracting and construction management experience. Together, they created Barken to offer clients a single, integrated team capable of managing every stage of a commercial construction project from initial feasibility and financing through design coordination, preconstruction, and general contracting to project closeout. The company holds California Contractor License #1029548 and primarily serves commercial clients across Fresno County, with specialization in multi-family residential developments, corporate office construction, senior living facilities, healthcare construction, and tenant improvement projects. Barken’s approach combines owner-led development accountability with in-house construction management, enabling tighter schedules, clearer communication, and more predictable outcomes.
